Memorise: Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand. 2 Corinthians 1:24

Read: Genesis 37:25-28, 36

An important lesson of life which must be understood in order to prosper is that: to succeed, you must connect with your divinely-ordained helpers. This can be seen in the story of Joseph. After his brothers sold him as a slave to the Ishmaelite, who took him to Egypt, God connected him with Potiphar so that Joseph could get the required training, especially in the area of leadership and resource management to prepare him for his destined position. If he had not gone through that experience in the house of Potiphar, Joseph would have had lots of difficulties when the time came to fulfil his destiny. God is a God of planning. Before He takes you to your final destination, He ensures you have been prepared. Ask Joseph, and he will tell you that his training was not easy. No true training is. Unfortunately, many people do not want to be trained. They don’t want to go through hardship, servitude, denials, hostilities, etc. yet, they want to get to the top.

A particular brother relayed how he kept jumping from one parish of a particular gospel church to another, just because he did not want to be sidelined, marginalised or maltreated. If you continue to avoid your leader’s training and corrections, when would you ever be fit to occupy where God has destined for you? Do you know that for this reason, some believers have had to lose their destinies to others who were prepared to pay the price they would not pay? You will not lose your destiny in Jesus name! When God connects you to your helpers, be ready to undergo the necessary training required of you so as to move you forward. God connects us with our helpers. Even when you have to serve under a wicked leader, there are some things you need to learn from him or her. May the Lord connect you with your helpers today in Jesus name. Joseph went to a strange land but God raised Potiphar for him as a helper. When his assignment was over, problem came with Potiphar’s wife that moved Joseph to another phase of his training – prison. But eventually, he got to the throne and still ruled over his helpers. Never despise your helpers if you want to prosper!

PRAYER POINT:
If a helper fails to fulfil his or her role in your life, there will always be a vacuum that you may never fill. Father, let my helpers fulfil their purpose in my life.

Bible in one year: 2 Samuel 1-4

Verse of the Day

But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness. — James 3:17-18 (NIV)
